A checked food spot gets exactly the same ranking lift as a verified Islamic official. It is a lift and not a shortcut: what people do with a post counts for more than any mark, so it raises your posts without buying the top of the feed.

Your venue appears in the halal food finder for people searching around them, and in the category lists for people who already know what they are after. You set the address, and the listing is only shown once it is published and complete.

Ya Habibi's own account
The staff mark, which speaks for the product itself, carries the largest lift of the three. It cannot be applied for.

The scholar's tick, granted after a person read the documents and telephoned the institution.

Exactly the same lift as the scholar's tick. Not a fraction of it, and not more than it.
What readers actually do
Likes, replies and reposts span a wider range than any of the three marks, so they can and do outrank all of them.
So a marked post with a little traction sits comfortably above the ordinary run of the feed, and a genuinely popular post from an unmarked account still passes it. That is deliberate, and it is worth saying out loud: a feed you could buy the top of is a feed nobody would trust your badge in either.

There is no online signup yet, so a listing begins with a message to a person rather than a card form. We confirm the terms in writing, including how VAT applies to you, before anything is charged. It does not buy the Food Spot rosette either
The rosette is not a subscription feature. It is granted separately, when a person here has read your halal certificate and checked it against the certifier. Pay and produce nothing, and you have a listing with no mark on it. That is the point of the mark: one that every paying account wore would tell a Muslim choosing where to eat nothing at all.
It does not buy the scholar's tick
The tick is a claim about religious authority, granted only after a person read an ijazah, a sanad or a letter of appointment and telephoned the institution behind it. No subscription reaches it.
It does not buy the top of the feed
Engagement spans a wider range than any badge in the ranking, so a popular post from an unmarked account still outranks a marked post that nobody engaged with.
It does not certify your food
Ya Habibi certifies nothing. Your HMC, HFA or other certificate is what certifies your food, and it stays the certifier's. We record it and name them.
It does not come with a promised audience
We will not quote you customers, covers or clicks, because we do not have an honest number to give you. What we sell is the listing and the mark, described exactly as they are.
Why you get a knife and fork, not a tick
Both are Ya Habibi rosettes and both mean a person checked something. They are deliberately different marks, and the reason is the most important sentence on this page.
Food Spot
This is a listed halal food business, admitted by Ya Habibi after a person held its certificate. It says nothing about Islamic scholarship, because a food business has not claimed any.
Islamic official
A scholar, mufti, imam or qari whose ijazah, sanad, degree or letter of appointment a person read, whose identity was checked against it, and whose institution was telephoned. The role it was granted for is always printed beside it.
A business that pays to be listed has not proven anything about Islamic scholarship, and one mark serving both claims would let a subscription buy the appearance of religious authority.
So the two marks can never be the same shape. It protects the scholars, and it protects you: your rosette is worth something to the people reading it precisely because nobody could have bought theirs. Read how the checks are carried out.
How a listing happens
Four steps, and a person at each of them. Most venues are answered within a working day.

Write to us
Tell us the venue, the trading address and who certifies your meat. One message is enough to start.

Send the certificate
The certifier, the certificate number where there is one, the premises exactly as they are written on it, and the dates it runs between.

A person checks it
We match the name and address on the certificate against the listing, then look the outlet up in the certifier's own directory. A certificate belonging to another branch is the most common reason a listing is refused.

You go live
The listing publishes at £9.99 a month for that venue, and the rosette appears beside your name once the certificate has been checked.
Questions owners ask
What does the Food Spot badge actually prove?
That a person at Ya Habibi held your halal certificate, matched the name and address written on it to this listing, and looked the outlet up in the certifier's own directory. It proves we admitted the listing and checked the paper behind it. It does not certify your food.
Is this a halal certification?
No. Ya Habibi certifies nothing and never will. Your HMC, HFA or other certificate is what certifies your food, and the certification stays the certifier's. The badge records that somebody here has seen that certificate and checked it, which is a different and much smaller claim.
Is £9.99 per venue or per company?
Per venue, per month. Each address is its own listing with its own certificate, opening hours and photographs, because certifiers such as HMC certify an outlet rather than a company, and a certificate covering another branch does not cover this one.
Will my posts go to the top of the Ummah feed?
No, and they are not meant to. A checked food spot gets the same ranking lift as a verified Islamic official, and what readers do with a post counts for more than any mark, so a popular post from an unmarked account still outranks a marked post nobody engaged with. That is deliberate: it is what keeps the feed worth reading.
What happens if my certification lapses?
The mark comes off. It rests on a certificate with dates on it, so when that certificate expires, or when the certifier removes the outlet from its scheme, the rosette leaves the listing until a current certificate has been checked. The listing itself stays; the claim we can no longer stand behind does not.
How do I cancel?
Write to us and we stop it. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee. The listing comes down at the end of the period you have already paid for, and nothing renews after that.
