Messages

Messages, on your terms

Talk to people you have met in the Ummah, with the same translation the feed has, and with a setting that decides who can start.

Who may start a conversation with you is a setting you hold, not a policy you accept.

What it does

01

Translate a message, keep the original

The same on-demand translation the feed uses. Press Translate to read it, press Show original to see what was actually written.

02

Who can message you is your decision

Messages between brothers and sisters are off unless you turn them on, and the choice is yours to change at any time.

03

Pictures, and a record

Send a photograph in a conversation. Conversations with a closed or deactivated account stop appearing rather than sitting there unanswerable.

The rule this is held to

Never automatically

A message is translated when you press Translate, and only then. Messages between brothers and sisters are off until you turn them on, and turning them back off is yours to do at any time.

Worth knowing

  • Conversations with a closed or deactivated account stop appearing, rather than sitting in the inbox unanswerable.

Questions people ask

Can anyone message me?

No. The opposite-gender setting is off by default, blocks apply everywhere, and reporting is on every conversation.

Are messages translated automatically?

Never automatically. A message is translated when you press Translate, and only then.

Try it yourself

Free on iOS and Android, and a username is all it asks for after you have signed up.
